What men and other creatures would
eat Gen 1:29 Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant
on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in
it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and
all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the
ground--everything that has the breath of life in it
--I give every green plant for food." And it was so.
It is clear from this that neither man nor any other creature were to eat
flesh or each other. Man was created with a digestive system designed to
deal with plant material, not meat or even fish. We'll see
later that God had to "downgrade" men and other creature's
diets and how killing and spilling blood started
Concept of clean/unclean
animals Gen 7:2 Take with you seven of every kind
of clean animal, a male and its mate, and two of every kind of
unclean animal, a male and its mate, 3 and also seven of every kind
of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the
earth. NIV Gen 7:2 Bring in the animals, too-a
pair of each, except those kinds I have chosen for eating and for
sacrifice: take seven pairs of each of them, TLB
Gen 9:1 God blessed Noah and his sons and told them
to have many children and to repopulate the earth.
2 "All wild animals and birds and fish will be afraid of you," God told him;
"for I have placed them in your power, and they are yours to use for food,
in addition to grain and vegetables. 4 But never eat animals unless their
life-blood has been drained off. TLB
Never eat
Blood Gen 9:4 But never eat animals unless their life-blood has been
drained off. 5 And murder is forbidden. Man-killing animals must die, and
any man who murders shall be killed; for to kill a man is to kill one made
like God. 7 Yes, have many children and repopulate the earth and subdue it."

Bearing the potential to be basically equal to Elohim, qualifies man to rule
over his (their) creation: Gen 1:26...and let them
rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock,
over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

King David confirmed this reality: Ps 8:3 When I look
up into the night skies and see the work of your fingers-the moon and the
stars you have made- 4 I cannot understand how you can bother with mere puny
man, to pay any attention to him! TLB
5 And yet you have made him only a little lower than the angels and placed
a crown of glory and honor upon his head.
6 You have put him in charge of everything you made; everything is put under
his authority: 7 all sheep and oxen, and wild animals too, 8 the birds and
fish, and all the life in the sea. 9 O Jehovah, our Lord, the majesty and
glory of your name fills the earth. TLB
Man is in control of nature
In Gen 1:31 God repeats his ruling in verses 26 & 28
(above), just to make sure that we understand, that man is in control of
nature - no untouchable "holy cows" when it comes to the God of Creation,
or as he later defined himself, the God of Israel -- See
God's people.
Gen 2:18-20 also bears out the fact that man
isdifferent from animals and in authority over them -to name them:
The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be
alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." 19 Now the LORD God had formed
out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air.
He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the
man called each living creature, that was its name. Gen 2:20 So the man gave
names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the
field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found.
Gen 9:1 God blessed Noah and his sons and told them
to have many children and to repopulate the earth.
2 "All wild animals and birds and fish will be afraid of you," God told him;
"for I have placed them in your power, and they are yours to use for food,
in addition to grain and vegetables. 4 But never eat animals unless their
life-blood has been drained off. TLB
Man's
Skills Gen 4:19 Lamech married two women, one named Adah
and the other Zillah. 20 Adah gave birth to Jabal; he was the father of those
who live in tents and raise livestock. 21 His brother's name was Jubal; he
was the father of all who play the harp and flute. 22 Zillah also had a son,
Tubal-Cain, who forged all kinds of tools out of bronze and iron. Tubal-Cain's
sister was Naamah. NIV

Sexuality &
Shame Gen 3:6-7 The
woman was convinced. How lovely and fresh looking it was! And it would make
her so wise! So she ate some of the fruit and gave some to her husband, and
he ate it too. 7 And as they ate it, suddenly they became aware of their
nakedness, and were embarrassed. So they strung fig leaves together to cover
themselves around the hips. TLB
 Acquiring
consciousness of right & wrong turned completely natural, inhibited sex
for pleasure and procreation into something unnatural, ameans to exert an
agenda, viz. favor, control, punishment, rebellion, consolation, etc.
God also set his standard concerning the sexual
orientation of man right from the start: that
of MALE and FEMALE; there is nothing in between, and it isn't something we
can decide about ourselves.
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the
image of God he created him; male and female he created
them.
Gen 2:23 "This is it!" Adam exclaimed. "She is part of my own bone and flesh!
Her name is 'woman' because she was taken out of a man." 24 This explains
why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife in such
a way that the two become one person. TLB
Last Word: Eph 5:25-33 And you husbands, show the same kind of love
to your wives as Christ showed to the Church when he died for her, 26 to
make her holy and clean, washed by baptism and God's Word; 27 so that he
could give her to himself as a glorious Church without a single spot or wrinkle
or any other blemish, being holy and without a single fault. 28
That is how husbands should treat their wives, loving
them as parts of themselves. For since a man and his wife are now one,
a man is really doing himself a favor and loving himself when he loves his
wife! 29 No one hates his own body but lovingly cares for it, just
as Christ cares for his body the Church, of which we are parts. 31(That the
husband and wife are one body is proved by the Scripture, which says, "A
man must leave his father and mother when he marries so that he can be perfectly
joined to his wife, and the two shall be one.") 32 I know this is hard to
understand, but it is an illustration of the way we are parts of the body
of Christ. 33 So again I say, a man must love his wife as a part of himself;
and the wife must see to it that she deeply respects her husband-obeying,
praising, and honoring him. TLB

Man#Sexuality
God created them MAN & WOMAN, and that is the norm form sexual
relationships for mankind. It is not something we can decide about and changing
God's norm unless we are given over to our own decadence:
Rom 1:24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful
desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies
with one another. ...26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts.
Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the
same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed
with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and
received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. 28 Furthermore,
since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he
gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. NIV |

Submitted to
husband Gen
16:1 Now Sarai, Abram's wife, had borne him no children. But she had an Egyptian
maidservant named Hagar; 2 so she said to Abram, "The LORD has kept me from
having children. Go, sleep with my maidservant; perhaps I can build a family
through her."
Abram agreed to what Sarai said. NIV Sara blamed Abram for her wrong
decision.
Fallen women: Gen 3:16
To the woman he said, "I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing;
with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband,
and he will rule over you." NIV In other words, wives need to submit
to their husbands
Seventh
day Gen
1:31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.
And there was evening, and there was morning--the sixth day.
Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.
2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the
seventh day he rested from all his work. 3 And God blessed the seventh
day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating
that he had done. NIV In blessing the seventh
day and making it holy, God
set it apart from other days. The argument of some Christians it doesn't
matter what day you make your Sabbath, therefore, doesn't wash. Christmas
day, yes, you can make any day because God didn't set such a day apart, it's
a man-made day, a compromise with pagans (between pagans in most cases).

Forty Gen 7:4 Seven
days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty
nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature

Work
Gen 2:15 The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden
as its gardener, to tend and care for it. |

It is clear that man was supposed to work from the beginning, but probably
the way God worked, by speaking out what he wanted done - as against later
when he sinned.
Gen 3:17 And to Adam, God said, "Because you listened
to your wife and ate the fruit when I told you not to, I have placed a curse
upon the soil. All your life you will struggle to extract
a living from it. 18 It will grow thorns and thistles for you, and you shall
eat its grasses. 19 All your life you will sweat to master it, until your
dying day. TLB
Ground Gen 8:20 0 Then Noah built an altar to the LORD and,
taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt
offerings on it. 21 The LORD smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart:
"Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every
inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy
all living creatures, as I have done. 22 "As long as the earth endures, seedtime
and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease."
NIV
Lifespan Gen 6:1 Now a population explosion took place upon
the earth. It was at this time that beings from the spirit world looked upon
the beautiful earth women and took any they desired to be their wives. 3
Then Jehovah said, "My Spirit must not forever be disgraced in man, wholly
evil as he is. I will give him 120 years to mend his ways."
Conduct Principle of Giving
Gen
14:18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest
of God Most High,...:20 Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.
NIV
In his fairness, Godbuilt thedemocratic righttochoose
intoman by putting the Tree of Consciencein
the garden. It boils down to man being given the right to choose to do his
OWN THING in his OWN WAY, rather than to do GOD's THING in GOD's WAY.
"...you will be doomed to die" (TLB -below)
or "..surely die" (NIV) probably doesn't imply
that man will live forever should he not exercise this right to choose; rather
that he will die SPIRITUALLY and cut his connection with his Maker -and end
up in heaven when he dies.
Gen 2:16 But the Lord God gave the man this warning:
"You may eat any fruit in the garden except fruit from the Tree of Conscience-for
its fruit will open your eyes to make you aware of right and wrong, good
and bad (shame). If you eat its fruit, you will be
doomed to die." TLB |

Many Christians, esp. liberation theologists are confused by the fact that
killing prevails in spite of the "peace" they think Jesus has brought and
the potential of acquiring redemption and a new life. This esp. goes for
nations. It is said God will not perform "ethnic cleansing"
anymore because of the potential of salvation. It's confusing for many, and
we see it clearly with the so-called Palestinian Arabs. Most Christians cannot
imaginethat the God of Israel could exercise his sovereign right to wipe
out nations if he wanted to - because of their wicketness (as we've seen
the last Palestinians are
capable
of), not because of Israel's righteousness. See
Nations#Judge.
Many Christians also don't seem to notice that Yeshua stated himself that
he hadn't come to bring PEACE and
that he got pretty UPSET at times.
